Benjamin Hindson Joins Trov Mobility
We’re off to a great start this year, particularly in the UK, as Benjamin Hindson, former VP at Marsh, has joined our Mobility team as Insurance Solutions Manager for Europe. Benjamin joins us with designs on bringing our Mobility Insurance Platform to more shared mobility operations across the region. With outstanding experience managing large sharing economy programs under his belt, he’ll be working with customers to understand their insurance needs and advise them on technical requirements, coverage, and limits, and more; from design through to placement and implementation. At the same time, he will be building relationships with a broader network of insurers, helping them to better understand our customers’ businesses and ensuring cover is tailored to their needs. We are thrilled to have him on board, and would like to take this opportunity to share a bit more about Benjamin and what he brings to the table.
Benjamin, a native of Newcastle, studied French, Spanish, and International Relations at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland before settling in East London. He’s a keen traveler, having visited more than 45 different countries around the world, and is always dreaming of the next big adventure. While travel plans may be on hold for now, he’s taken to fostering cats during the lockdown to keep occupied, and also enjoys cooking and baking for family and friends. According to his former colleagues, his chocolate Guinness cake is always a winner.
ACII qualified and a Chartered Insurance Broker, Benjamin joins from Marsh where he held a number of roles. As part of the Graduate Development Programme, he initially worked in proposition development, focusing on delegated authorities and project management within the Affinity Practice. Following this, he joined Marsh’s UK and Ireland Communications, Media, and Technology Industry Practice as Knowledge Manager. He then transitioned to a Client Executive position, where he was responsible for advising large multinational organizations on their insurance programs, primarily in the telecoms and technology industry sectors.
Outside of work, Benjamin uses his broad range of experience and passion for the industry to chair the Next Generation Insurance Network, one of the largest independent networks for aspiring insurance industry leaders, as well as pursuing professional interests in diversity and inclusion, working with the Inclusion@Lloyd’s Partner Networks and various organizations whose aims are to make insurance an industry where everyone can thrive.
When we asked what excited him most about joining the Trov Mobility team, he said he was proud to join an “awesome group of smart people, who have a different and unique take on the insurance stack”. In addition, he’s thrilled to be working in what he describes as an open, collaborative culture where he’ll have an opportunity to make a difference, share insights, and see some of the most innovative and exciting business models for mobility first hand, while playing a role in their success. Regarding our platform, he sees great value in the unique combination of insurance and tech, highlighting our ability to provide detailed risk information and links to real-time telematics along with a deeper understanding of risk management.
With his knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, and insights, we are beyond pleased to welcome Benjamin Hindson to the team here at Trov.
